A score cannot show you where a player breathes, how the embouchure sits, or what the right hand does between phrases; video can. Most of these discs are dizi: Ma Di and Zhang Yanwu in 《秦川風情》, Wang Ciheng in 《閒情一曲賦春風》, and the memorial concert 《松庭流芳》 for Zhao Songting, where Zhan Yongming, Zhang Weiliang, Dai Ya and Du Rusong each take a turn on stage. The huqin title is a recital by Wang Guiying. One practical warning: 《笛藝春秋》 is a two-disc VCD edition rather than a DVD, so check that your player reads VCD before you buy it.
