Description

The selected pieces reflect, to a certain extent, the developmental trajectory and historical heritage of the art of erhu performance over the sixty glorious years of New China. The collection brings together the more representative new compositions, arrangements and revisions of the past sixty years, as well as a selection of ancient pieces, folk pieces, Peking opera and other regional operatic works, and pieces transcribed from foreign violin repertoire that have all played a positive role in advancing erhu performance technique and enhancing its expressiveness – making the collection broad in subject matter and varied in content.
